WHAT IS THE DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT?

In the first place, the comprehensive plan of treatment, based on the results of examination and bone measurement as well as on the expectations and needs of the Patient, is prepared.

The procedure itself consists in making holes in strictly defined places in the bone, in which, later on, the implants are screwed. Then the holes are covered with the gum tissue for better healing. Depending on the number of the implants, the procedure lasts from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Placing one or several implants in a well formed bone, conducted in local anaesthesia, is a painless procedure.

The procedure does not require from the Patient any break in everyday duties.

The healing period lasts from 2 to 6 months, and the Patient can temporarily use traditional dentures without any fear.

When the healing period is over, the doctor reveals the top of the implant in order to fix a healing cap for dozen or so days. The cap extends the implant to the edge of the gums. After this, the doctor takes imprints, and a prosthetist prepares a crown, bridgework, or bolt denture, which is fixed by the dentists to the implants knitted to the bone.

At times, the doctor decides to introduce the implant directly after the extraction, which shortens the duration of treatment, and has a positive impact on the preservation of bone tissue and gums around the implant.
